God’s Plan

God' s original plan was to be in eternal fellowship with Man. However, that came to an abrupt end when Man decided to trade coexistence with God to a coequal relationship to God. Much like our parents, God never tells us to refrain from doing something without already knowing the outcome. God already knew mankind's propensity for evil, which is where the commandment not to eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil came about. Though some will say pride was the reason for the initial fall of Man, I believe eating of the tree of knowledge was Adam and Eve's sin and pride became ours. The greatest trick the enemy ever pulled was convincing the world he doesn't exist. Knowledge gave way to pride because it convinced us that everything seen or known was all there is and anything without explanation needed to exist before being counted worthy of study, and therefore knowledge. What convincing does the enemy have to do to prove he's not the source of evil if our knowledge is subject to what is seen? What good is knowledge if it fails to deliver truth? That is why Jesus calls Himself the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Unlike becoming like God, we began challenging God based upon the assumed superior authority of our own knowledge above His.

Remember, satan is not God's counterpart. He is subservient, meaning he is used as a means to an end. The scriptures say, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household." (Acts 16:31-34) He is calling us back to original nature; trusting in Him to provide for our every need and desire.
