Homosexuality against the will of God
Why does my sexuality concern God? God establishes the intent for sexual desire from the very beginning with the creation of Adam and Eve. It was one man and one woman and through them the earth was filled. But not everyone wants children, right? So there has to be a fundamental reason for why God forbids same sex relationships. Sexual desire appeals to our flesh. Our flesh responds to what it feels or what we give. The word of God tells us to crucify our flesh. (Galatians 5:24). If there are no parameters placed around what is good for our bodies, our flesh will act unregulated to any stimuli that makes it feel good. Feelings are fleeting and we are left to sit with the actions as a result of those feelings.
When the Bible talks about sin, it speaks about it in the context of those who “practice lawlessness” or “workers of iniquity.” These are those who are unrepentant. That is because sin leads to more sin until it leads to death. I’m sure this will offend some. However, it is why when the LGBT community first originated, it was just that. Now, its known as LGBTQIA +. The flesh is never satisfied. The same applies to fornication, adultery, and lust. Collectively, these are known as sexual immorality. If you continue to practice these behaviors, they eventually lead to destruction.
Lastly, there is a misconception of what love actually is. Society believes love knows no bounds but in reality it is the boundaries that distinguish love from neglect. But God is so full of love that He will not neglect you because that indicates being in the presence of sin and ignoring it. Instead He must remove Himself totally .The Bible says “I will hide my face from them.” (Deuteronomy 32:30). In the book of Isaiah, God hearkens to Israel, “Seek the Lord while He may be found. Call upon Him while He is near.” There will come a time when the Lord will withdraw. Sexual immorality undermines human value. We are much more than what our flesh desires. Jesus says to His disciples, “The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.” (Matthew 26:41)
