Restoration

I want to end this blog series by saying that in the midst of your personal relationship development with the Lord that “all things work together for good, for those who are called according to His purpose.” (Romans 8:28) Unfortunately, any real follower of Christ knows that seeing through all that God has for us is a lot easier said than done. Oftentimes, we have no idea why we’re waiting or why we are suffering. Job was a prime example of an individual who struggled, wrestled in thought and understanding of why he was going through such a difficult time, difficult being an understatement. His cattle had been stolen (his prosperity), children died, and suffered deteriorating health, all in rapid succession. However, after much self-pity, self-righteousness, and questioning of God’s punishment upon himself, Job realizes for himself God’s true nature. It wasn’t that Job was perfect or without sin, but he was a man who feared God. If there’s one thing I truly desire to leave you with is that…Job’s suffering wasn’t a punishment but rather a lesson, an opportunity to explore God’s goodness even deeper. Job eventually realizes that true wisdom and freedom is only gained when we realize that there are some things we will never, ever understand about God and His ways but also accepting as fact that He loves us beyond the conditional, erratic, and sometimes deceptive ways of human love and comprehension. In all honesty, God’s love is something that can’t be described because it’s beyond earthly description, it can only be felt and even then it renders you wordless because it’s that unreal and real all at once.

When it seems as if the ungodly go unpunished, don’t be tempted to fall off the path of God. God has chosen you to suffer because He deems you fit enough to run this race. And when you do, He will bless you above all that you can ever pray for, think or imagine in the sight of those who have called you foolish or naive for holding onto a faith that did not seem to pay any dividends for such devotion Remember “In this world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33)

Be Blessed and get your wings.
